Ptychoprobe Detector Mover for 33-ID beamline
An easy switchable in-vacuum detectors positioning system
The 33-ID PtychoProbe is a new x-ray microscope being built to take advantage of the APS-U brightness and coherence. Ptychography and x-ray fluorescence will be combined to for rapid acquisition of very high spatial resolution (1 nm) along with chemical information.
For this purpose, a fast detector close to the sample for rapid data transfer and a large detector farther away from the sample for obtaining the highest spatial resolution data should be located in one detector positioning system. IRELEC supplied this very specific positioning system with two easy switchable in-vacuum detectors.
A precision and ergonomic system to meet the specific requirements of a Synchrotron imaging beamline
IRELEC leveraged its decades of experience supplying precision equipment to synchrotrons around the world to design, build, and commission an in-vacuum detector positioning system for the 33-ID Ptychography and x-ray fluorescence microscopy beamline.
Thanks to a combination of in-vacuum precise motion stages, IRELEC manages the integration of the fast detector as close as 75 mm from the sample, and the integration of the large detector as far as 5,000 mm from the sample, into a single 5.6 meters long vacuum chamber.
